To do a full and complete assessment of your financial situation, we need a substantial amount of information. Below is a list of the types of things we need to collect from you. Obviously not everything on the list applies to everyone, but this should be a good guideline when thinking about what we would look for in order to assist you.
- Tax returns and/or Notice of Assessments from CRA for both yourself and your spouse for the past 2 years.
- Pension statement from your employer for yourself and your spouse.
- Benefits statement from your employer for both yourself and your spouse.
- Most recent pay stubs for both yourself and your spouse.
- Your life insurance, disability, critical illness and long term care insurance policies.
- Budget of your personal and living expenses if you have one.
- Details of any planned major expenditures. (home renovations, new car, vacation, etc)
- Latest statements from employer sponsored RRSP and savings plans, stock option plans or stock purchase plans.
- Latest statements from brokers, investment companies and banks pertaining to RRSP’s and other investments such as Non-RRSP accounts, TFSAs and RESPs.
- Details of any credit card debts, personal loans, mortgages or lines of credit including amount owed, interest rate.
- Copies of your current will(s) and powers of attorney.
- Marital agreement(s).
- Copies of business buy/sell or shareholder agreements if applicable.
- Severance pay documents.
- Other relevant documentation.
