Dave
entered the financial services industry in January, 1985 after spending
some years with a big five bank. He spent the next 3 years as a life
insurance agent with a major national company. Through the years, Dave
moved into positions of increasing responsibility, mostly assisting
financial advisors in the technical aspects of their client service
work. At the same time, Dave continued to work with his own clientele
in the areas of estate planning, retirement income planning and long-term
savings.
In late 1999, Dave left Maritime Life as Vice-president for B.C. to
join Rosalie Leischner in purchasing Braun Financial Services from the
Braun Family.
Dave holds both the Certified Financial Planner and the Chartered Life
Underwriter designations and is committed to ongoing professional development.
Through his career, Dave has been actively involved in industry groups,
having served on the executive of the local chapter of the Canadian
Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors as well as teaching
and organizing educational programs to other financial professionals.
Dave was born and raised in South Burnaby and is married to Nancy. They have two kids; Geoff, who is now 20 and Lisa, age 17. Dave's interests include aviation, photography and the outdoors, and he and Nancy are interested in travel and gardening.
